Join DAPSI’s workshop @ the DATA WEEK 2022!

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was implemented in the European Union in 2018 to strengthen consumers’ rights to data privacy in the wake of technological developments. An opportunity to bring the power of personal data back to people’s hands and fuel competition.  But users still demand more practicality associated with the rules. From a technical point of view, companies are currently facing the challenge of developing common and interoperable data formats. Portability cannot be successful if everyone develops their own system.

To achieve comprehensive, cross-sector data portability, common standards should be developed and exploited. A commitment to a standard by a company also creates confidence in this company and can serve as a marketing instrument.

DAPSI is hosting a workshop called “Data privacy: better control your personal data with new open-source solutions” at the DATA WEEK 2022, on June 2nd. Experts and innovators in the field will discuss the current challenges associated with data privacy from the consumers’ and innovators’ perspectives. Participants will get to know new open-source data privacy solutions to use as an alternative to those of the tech giants. In addition, corresponding open-source projects can help small businesses realize the right to data transfer in practice.
